I'm not a music critic so I'll be rather short with my review. I previewed a couple songs on the album, and nothing really stood out other than the fantastically sultry first single Body Party, so I just copped that and didn't look back.
Ciara took plenty of time to develop the album -- long enough for delays, a scrapped lead single ("Sweat"), the release of various non-album cuts, and even a change of title (originally One Woman Army). Although the first single was the scintillating “Body Party” (which brilliantly samples the Ghost Town DJs hit "My Boo" and has one of the year's most talked-about videos), Ciara favors thumping R&B-flavored singles over steamy ballads.
I am a massive Ciara fan, since Love Sex Magic I fell in love and backtracked and bought her other four albums. It was perfectly performed by the young singer who frankly sang about the troubles easy to understand by teenagers, the widest possibly audience. Unlike her previous three albums (The Evolution, Fantasy Ride, and Basic Instinct), it focuses on more of a new R&B sound, and it's very diverse, more with Hip-Hop, Pop, and Soul meshed together, and the beats are very well produced, and includes a good amount of collaborations from Nicki and Future.
After that, Ciara and Bow Wow regularly appeared in headlines as a new super star couple. Shortly after, the videos for the three singles were featured on Ciara’s first DVD. Ciara won her first Grammy in February 2006 for the video she made along with Missy Elliott for Lose Control.

Fantasy Ride was okay, but this one has a much stronger, well executed output.

Stylistically Basic Instinct is an urban collection of R&B-compositions and danceable numbers loaded with basses, very reminiscent of Ciara’s early works which is also reflected in the album's titleNaturally that sincere girl named Ciara who is able to love still exists on Fantasy Ride but a decent portion of sexuality is added to it all making each of the album's danceable tracks a ready club hitThe Evolution is jammed with guaranteed hits bounced out by professional chart-smashers and many well-known persons. Sure, such joint work says a lot about the highest level of Basic Instinct. The production is tight and the track listing just naturally flows like a river downhill.
