The performances from both Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine are indeed incredible although completely eccentric as both characters duel to try and out do each other in a game of cat and mouse and a battle of wits! When buying this, I didn't expect the movie to grab me much.
Great murder mystery w multiple, unexpected, twists and turns. Read the play first and then buy the DVD version of Sleuth. This film has only the two actors in it. I won't give away the plot, but it has some lovely twists as the two men play out their game to the end. If Agatha Christie has a sardonic sense of humor, and a taste for sadism, she could have written the screenplay for Sleuth.

I had trouble finding it on DVD a few years ago and bought it off Ebay. Read the play first and then buy the DVD version of Sleuth. This version has an additional 40 minutes (!) The detail and casting are superb and will give those of a love for whodunits and also class acting a real treat. Territories, Canada, and Bermuda.
