With most of the First Fleeters close to starvation, the colony had been desperately awaiting the arrival of the ship that was laden down with much-needed supplies.The ship was the only means of communication for those struggling to survive in an isolated new land. According to The First Fleet carried what was thought to be two years’ worth of food but it didn’t take long for supplies to dwindle.Of course, those in power ate better food than everybody else.
